Two variations on the same theme.......the one at the bottom is one of the overprint layers which I printed as an individual image........

charm.

This one is 3 layers.....I started with yellow to establish a ground.  Then I added the red underlayer to bring out elements I saw in the yellow layer.  The third layer was the figure.  I had intended to place the figure on the other side of the image but made a "mistake" - not sure if it is better this way but I kind of like it.

This is the poem I wrote last night..........

When I was five

I said to  myself

What does it mean to be five

Then I ran outside and pretended

I cannot rememeber what I pretended

But I am pretty sure it was fun

And there were other kids

Who pretended with me

Oh yeah now I remember

I was a lion

We played born free

Which was a movie about lions

One guy wanted to be the top lion

Who was a girl lion

I did not get the irony of this then

I was just five

So when I was five

I played being a lion

But also thought about the ramifications

Of pretending

So I kind of missed out being a lion totally

I was only partly a lion

The other part was me

Thinking about why I was a lion

Now I am in my bedroom

Trying to remember

If any of this is real

Or just something that seems like a cool poem

That I can write down

Before I forget it

After thinking it sounded pretty good

When I was five

Or when I was five did I know I would write this

When I was five dozens of times over

Thinking of the moment

When I was no longer a lion

When I was five

I wished I was in space

I wished I was in space

And I was.

did an art event in White Plains yesterday at my cousins church.......I did not know how people would react to my work but in general they found things they liked.  I also did a demo of the process which I think helps start a conversation about how the work is created at any rate.  A few made their own prints which I think added to the participation of the piece........

so far this month I have been able to keep up with a print each day.......for this one I painted over the print a bit to even out some areas.......

this is a shot of the studio........I am working on both these pieces right now........

Truth is one of those things that I think about a lot.

Ventriloquist........

Just found out I will be doing a printmaking event at the 4Heads art fair on Governors Island this September.......I will post more as it comes up.

Today I started with the figure of the woman.....I think this looks like a ventriloquist....with a very unusual dummy............

Ice Age

 Todays print...........here I did 3 layers.......first yellow..then overprinted soft reds in 2 layers to create the depth in this piece

This painting has been a while in the making.  I used a palate knife and one color to create this work.  It is aproximately 1 meter high by 2 meters long....I call it Ice Age..........

Radiation..........

Radiant Energy...........we are essentially energy and our human form is derived from it.  We send out waves of that energy into the conscious sphere which is eminated by the essential energy.......At least that is what I see going on in this image...........

money and art.

august 2.......

pulled this print this morning........I am working on a large palate knife painting that is getting close to being completed and am wondering if I over worked the piece.......I will post it soon.

money is always a problem.......this week I will go to the bank and try to figure out what to do.....
