Celebration

Went to Art Basel in Miami Friday and Saturday this weekend.  So much really great art out there, all in one place.  It is pretty overwhelming.  Spoke to many people, of course my first thing is to consider if I made an ass of myself, but that's just me.

One observation is how quickly things become obsolete, or yesterdays news.......What was last years big find are now at smaller galleries.....

but in general a celebration of culture and ideas, and people's sincere dedication to the improvement of the human condition.  Really great.

Dec 6...........actually did this one on Dec 5 in the evening........day starts early today.......

Brush Edges.

This piece is direct painting on the stone/paper.  It is around 6"x8" painted with the monoprint inks.
This one went through many changes and experiments with the brushes until I finished with this state.

To Miami and Beyond.

Todays work was not  a print, I painted directly on Terra Skin, which is a paper which is made from crushed stone and resin.  I am currently out of paper and I save this material for times like these.

This is where the painting I am working on is at this point........Almost have the first color orientation layer completed......

I am heading down to Art Basel in Miami for a couple of days, check out the art world's biggest market.  Maybe sit on the beach and read a book........

after making the print I overworked this piece with brushes...........enhancing the color and adding black and white to add contrast.

Beyond............

Printed these around 1am last night........first print was the red one, I tried to use the ink from the day before, it did not lift like I thought it would but liked the results.......
The second print is the one at the bottom...... decided to go more figurative, and the last one is the one at top which used again the left over ink from 2............I overpainted the solid bluegreen areas at top and bottom.

Crimson

Working with "overpainting" the crimson color over the finished print in these three pieces.
