Hinterlands.......

On the far reaches of consciousness
She retaliated with accusations of infidelity
Sustaining a desperate yell across time and space
Reverberating through denial and spatial indifference

Once an island
Now a sea
Contorted to the jurisdiction of inevitable collapse
Sheltered from any kind of criticism

In place of romance a couple maintains separate residences
Between them the great state of Ohio
Where an olympian lives and watches many clocks
In a dusty home built by his grandfather

One day he has enough and forms a rock band
Which makes money selling fennel cakes to inebriated fans
Who are very conscious of what time it is
And their alcohol levels for sure

Time passes
The couple reunites and makes a baby named Sam
All is well
All is well.

NY Poets society.

These works are part of a project I did with the NY Poets society.  I created the images and asked the poets to interpret the images.  This work was displayed on Governors Island in NYC this weekend.

Regret like a stone weight.

July 18..........balance......when things get out of balance I loose my cool for sure.  I can be a real jerk......just posting this as today I regret which feels like each breath is a challenge..........

Emotions.

July 14.......

I am thinking about how unresolved conflicts in the mind create distorted behavior during day to day experience.  Is it possible that we communicate so poorly that everything comes out wrong in the context of human interaction?

Friendship then, is that an acceptance of our limitations and a hope that we can at least reduce the effects of our behavior on ourselves and others?

It seems that art is an attempt at direct expression, an attempt to subvert this communication gap to express emotions directly............

just got some new paper so I will be printing more often........hopefully back to one a day.  some new paintings getting started so stay in touch as things develop I will post.

ARt World.

July 10.........many changes around here these days.......this morning went to the beach with Dasha, did some yoga and had a swim.  I am thinking if making art from a place of peace in my mind makes a difference.....certainly I feel more like creating these days!
